This policy describes how Audory: PDF to Audiobook handles information. Audory: PDF to Audiobook runs on your device: it has no account and no ads, and the documents you import never leave your phone. It uses basic anonymous analytics to understand app usage.
Information we collect
Audory: PDF to Audiobook does not ask you to create an account and does not collect personal information that identifies you.
The documents you import and the audio generated from them are processed and stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
On-device processing
Text-to-speech is generated locally on your device using an on-device model. No text, document, or audio is sent to a server to be read aloud.
Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as app opens, which features are used, and device type. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve it.
This data does not include the contents of your documents or the audio you generate, and it is not used to identify you. Google processes this data according to its own policies.
Library downloads
Audory: PDF to Audiobook includes an optional library of free public-domain books. When you choose to download a book, the app fetches its text from a public catalogue. These requests carry no account or personal information.
In-app purchases and subscriptions
The app offers optional in-app purchases: an auto-renewing monthly subscription and a one-time lifetime unlock. All payment processing, renewal, and restoration are handled by Apple or Google through their stores.
We do not collect, store, or process any payment information on our own servers. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, which you can do anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Purchase status is stored locally on your device and restored through your store account.
Children's privacy
The app is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and security
Your documents, audio, and settings stay on your device and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app. We do not hold this data because it never reaches us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
